The Okpe First Bible Translation Project is targeted at helping the Okpe speaking community of Delta State, South-south Nigeria, have unrestricted access to the Word of God in their native language. This will be the first attempt at translating the Bible into the Okpe language. No portion or NT has ever existed in the language before now. Hence it is believed that the production of this Bible will further strengthen the evangelistic efforts of missionaries in the Okpe Kingdom. It will also help to facilitate literacy in Okpe-speaking communities thereby preserving the language.
